1946 until today

In 1946 the foundations for a success story were layed by G.D. Maibach and H. Maibach, who were active in the wood working field at that time.
In 1952 MAIBACH took up vacuum forming of thermoplastics and thus made its debut in the field of processing plastics.
As early as in 1958 MAIBACH had gained a leading position as manufacturers of thermoplastics in the south of Germany.
In 1962 MAIBACH started manufacturing the so-called “GFK-products” (polyester reinforced with glass-fibre). From now on a great variety of products for all sorts of industrial uses were made: Roofs of telephone booths, noise-absorbing cabs for textile machinery, noise protection systems for roads, highways, railroads, powerstations, airports and factory-buildings, as well as drivers´ cabs of trucks, bodies of racing cars, fan housings and, above all, high-quality cases and containers for storage and transportations purposes.
MAIBACH road safety equipment has a long tradition. More than 40 years ago the first MAIBACH guide posts made of plastic were introduced. For many years, MAIBACH has been supplying road construction authorities of the Federal Government, the “Länder”, “Kreise”, and communities with their products. These products include road safety equipment, guidance and warning equipment for roads and highways, as well as guidance systems for amphibians.
MAIBACH holds a number of patents and has business in the form of partnerships or joint-ventures cooperations with reputable firms. MAIBACH branch offices help distribute MAIBACH products.
MAIBACH maintains longstanding business relations with partners in many european countries and some countries overseas.
In 1990 the two groups road/highway equipment and noise protection were separated from MAIBACH Industrieplastic GmbH, to be called MAIBACH Verkehrssicherheits- und Lärmschutzeinrichtungen GmbH – short VuL – henceforth.
MAIBACH products are manufactured outside the MAIBACH premises, i.e. by specialized partner firms who are commissioned by MAIBACH. The products, however – from their conception until final production – remain a MAIBACH product. Special tools for manufacturing are owned by MAIBACH .
Export represents approx. 25 % of the MAIBACH turnover and is growing strongly.
On October 26th, 1990 the branch office MAIBACH Strassenausrüstung und Lärmschutzanlagen GmbH located in Radeberg near Dresden was founded. A further branch office MAIBACH Verkehrssicherheits- und Strasseneinrichtungen GmbH located in Velen/Borken was founded on January 1st, 2001. Also in 2001 MAIBACH VuL (Schweiz) GmbH was founded which had its beginnings already back in 1975 with the foundation of the MAIBACH Plastic AG, St. Gallen.
The newest addition to MAIBACH occurred in April 2003 through the founding of the MAIBACH AuS GmbH in St. Gilgen/Abersee in order to strengthen the MAIBACH position in the Austrian market.
